What is a returned order?

Definition: A returned order is an order that has been sent back to the warehouse after it has been delivered to the customer.


In simple terms

The customer has received the order but has returned one or more items.



What happens next

  • The returned items are received at the warehouse

  • They are checked and processed

  • Stock may be added back into inventory if the items are in a sellable condition


Common scenarios

A returned order may occur when:

  • The customer no longer wants the item

  • The item is damaged or faulty

  • The wrong item was received
