What is a split order?

Created by Matthew Stephens, Modified on Thu, 19 Mar at 4:53 PM by Matthew Stephens

Definition: A split order is when an order is divided into multiple shipments so that available items can be despatched first, while out-of-stock items are sent later.

In simple terms

If part of your order is in stock and part is not:

  • The available items are shipped first

  • The remaining items are sent once stock becomes available

What happens next

  • The order is split into separate shipments

  • Items that are in stock are picked, packed, and despatched

  • Backordered items remain on hold until stock arrives

Where to check

Split orders can be identified in Mintsoft within the Back Orders section.

You may also see a “Split Order” option on the order if it is eligible to be split.

Important

You are not able to split orders directly.

If you would like an order to be split, please contact support and we will arrange this for you.
