What does 'despatched' mean?

Created by Matthew Stephens, Modified on Fri, 20 Mar at 10:30 AM by Matthew Stephens

Definition: Despatched means a shipping label has been generated for an order and it has been prepared for shipment.

This does not necessarily mean the courier has collected the parcel yet.

 In simple terms

The order has been processed and is ready to leave the warehouse.

What happens next

  • The parcel will be collected by the courier

  • The first tracking scan will be completed

  • Tracking information will begin to update

Common questions

Why hasn’t tracking updated yet?

Tracking may not update immediately after despatch. This is usually because:

  • The courier has not yet collected the parcel

  • The first scan has not yet been completed
