Definition: A goods in discrepancy is when the stock received at the warehouse does not match what was expected.


In simple terms

The quantity or items delivered are different from what was listed on the ASN or delivery.



Example

If an ASN shows 100 units arriving, but only 95 units are received:

  • This is a goods in discrepancy


Common reasons

Goods in discrepancies can occur when:

  • Items are missing from the delivery

  • Incorrect products are sent

  • Quantities are wrong

  • Items arrive damaged
