What is a consignment?

Definition: A consignment is a single shipment of goods sent from the warehouse to a customer.


In simple terms

It refers to the package or group of items that are shipped together under one delivery.



Example

If an order is sent in one box:

  • This is one consignment

If an order is split into two shipments:

  • This will create two consignments



Why this matters

Each consignment will:

  • Have its own shipping label

  • Have its own tracking number

  • Be tracked separately
